Manuscript letter, dated Varna, 12 Jul 1854, from Pte Robert Hull, No 4 Coy 50th (or Duke of Clarence’s) Regiment of Foot , to his wife at Warwick. Hull mentions the general conditions prevailing in his regiment, and expresses the hope that they could soon begin active service instead of living under canvas in Turkey, a country he thought little of. Associated with the Crimean War (1854-1856).
