Description
Scabbard for shamshir sword, 1857-1859. Relating to Lt T N Harward and Nana Sahib. Wooden scabbard, covered with blue velvet. Two metal lockets with hinged oval suspension rings. Lockets decorated with flowers executed in enamel inlay of yellow, orange, green, blue and amber. Silver chape with incised flowers and leaves, some filled with blue enamel. Top end of chape is ornamentally perforated. Associated with the Indian Mutiny (1857-1859).
