Description
Tunic, possibly service dress, Garibaldi's Forces, British Volunteers, worn by Lt G S Smith and Mr Joseph Nelson, 1860 (c). White linen with green linen facings. Eight large gilt metal buttons (Coldstream Guards) down centre front bearing the following design: the star of the Order of the Garter. Associated with the Wars of Italian Unification (1848-1860).
