Personal journal of Chaplain Hedley William Mountney Handford kept during the advance into Palestine December 1917 to January 1918. Handford was possibly serving with 96th Bde Royal Garrison Artillery. The journal has some brief descriptions of the advance but mainly relates to Biblical and other historical sites and religious and secular archaeological monuments and churches. From a collection of papers relating to Rev Hedley William Mountney Handford. Associated with Rev Handford's service in Egypt and Palestine, World War One (1914-1918) and his career as a vicar in civilian life. Rev Handford was attached to 96th Bde Royal Garrison Artillery, and, possibly 31st General Hospital at Port Said, 1917 (c)-1918 (c).
