Lt Henry Curtis Gallup's detailed 'diary letters' of the period, 21 Mar-5 Oct 1915. The letters give a detailed description of landing at Basra, the fighting with Turkish troops and the resulting casualties, flooding at Kurnah on 27 April, and the heat and heat stroke his men suffered from. Included in this volume is Gallup's commission as a 2nd Lieutenant Territorial Force, from 28 Aug 1914, dated 29 Sep 1914. Associated with World War One, Mesopotamia (1914-1918).
