Superimposed centrally upon the obverse a double-headed silver eagle with wings displayed surmounted by a crown.
Upon its chest a white enamelled shield with a red enamel cross in the centre.
The reverse of red enamel bears the silver-lettered date, '1876'.
The whole suspended by a hinge fitting from the base of a hollow crown.
The crown attached by a ring to a ribbon of white moire.
The ribbon fashioned into a bow with brooch fitting.
