Description
Spatula scalpel with steel blade and tortoiseshell handle. Manufactured by Weiss, London and Savigny (?) & Co. From a case containing set of surgical instruments, 1848-1880 (c). Used by Hon Brigade Surgeon James Kellie, 86th (Royal County Down) from 5 May 1848 and from 1858 with the 17th Lancers, being promoted to Surgeon on the 20 Jun 1865.
