Description
Manuscript carbon copies of a diary in letter form kept by Col Montague Cholmeley during a voyage from England to Madras, 10 Sep - 3 Dec 1850. The first few pages are missing, but the account gives full details of such a voyage, including notes on the distances travelled each day. From a collection of manuscript documents relating to Col Montague Cholmeley, 27th Madras Native Infantry 1842-1874.
