Description
Manuscript letter from Lt Hutton Watkins, 1st Bengal Native Infantry, to his uncle, James Hutton, dated ‘Left Division Field Army Karai’ August 1818. Contains a long and detailed account of the campaigns against the Marathas during the previous twelve months. One of two manuscript letters from Lt Hutton Watkins, 1st Bengal Native Infantry, to his uncle, James Hutton, 1810 and 1818. Associated with the 3rd Maratha War (1816-1819).
