(Period 1851-1920); handlist of Bagshawe Muniments, John Rylands Library, with MS entries highlighting military correspondence and papers (mid eighteenth to early nineteenth centuries), where present, 1955; TS list of papers concerning the military career of Ninth Earl Dalhousie (from Dalhousie Papers), period 1790-1833, with some MS notes including highlighted references to 26th Regiment of Foot. From a box containing papers divided up by a set of East-Light Index dividers (A to L), described on spine as ‘Personal Papers’. The material consists exclusively of lists (and reports) of collections of papers and archive material either directly illustrative of, or highlighted to show relevance to, British military history from the end of the seventeenth century to the early twentieth centuries. HMC lists suggest the information was put together in the 1950s and 1960s. Collection of lists of private papers of military individuals.
