Description
Manuscript letter and franked envelope dated 3 May 1915 written by Pte Harold Stanley Harvey, 2nd London Regiment (Royal Fusiliers) from the trenches to Albert Morgan Hewlett. He mentions that ‘as for me I am beginning to think I shall still be promenading trenches when I have a beard about 3 feet long’, as well as the proximity of guns. Harvey was killed on the Somme on 10 Sept 1916 and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial. Associated with World War One, Western Front (1914-1918).
