Knight Companion, Star. White metal, gilt metal and enamel. A loop has been attached to the tip of each of the eight points of the star for sewing to a coat.

HRH Edward Augustus, Duke of Kent and Strathern was installed as the first Knight Companion of this order in 1783. The style of manufacture of the star and the naming of the jeweller indicate that it was made between 1806 (c) and 1810.
