Soup plate associated with 27th Madras Native Infantry, 1840 (c)-1845 (c). Creamware stand made by Chamberlain and Company, Worcester, 1840 (c)-1845 (c). With device of, ‘XXVII’ in a spray of laurels surmounted by a crown and the battle honour, ‘Mahidpoor’ in centre. Circular soup plate with scalloped edge and hand-painted floral design printed in orange around the rim, central motif in plain green.
