Modelled on Quartermaster Wilkins, the figure is shown as a lance corporal in khaki drill uniform for service in India of 1891. A plaque on the front shows the regimental insignia. The statuette was presented to the officers of 1st Bn Prince of Wales’s Leinster Regiment (Royal Canadians) in 1891 by Major Arthur Edward Cecil Kaye (1856-1923). When the regiment was disbanded in 1922, it returned the statuette to Kaye.
