Red leather and gilt brass scabbard; belonging to Pattern 1803 Light Infantry Officer, Presentation sword, 1822; few records of Yeomanry units survive, however, it was customary for them to give expensive presentation swords to officers leaving the regiment as a mark of esteem, rather then for a specific exploit; this weapon was presented to Capt Charles Brownlow, Lurgan Yeomanry Infantry, who became captain of the regiment in 1796 and spent 25 years in command.
