Shabraque badge, 14th (King's) Hussars, worn by Lt Col G H C Hamilton, 1878 (c). As worn upon the hind corners. Within a blue velvet garter, edged with gold wire, and bearing the gold wire title: FOURTEENTH HUSSARS, the cypher: VR. Below the garter, a gold embroidered eagle, crowned, with wings displayed, holding in one talon a sceptre, in the other and orb. The whole surmounted by a gold wire embroidered imperial crown. All upon a blue cloth ground.
