Frock, serge, worn by Brig John Montgomerie Hunt, 87th Punjabis, 2nd Punjab Regiment, pattern, 1913. Blue, with colonels’ badges, no gorget patches, medal ribbons including medals for service in the First World War and the India General Service Medal 1908-35 awarded to Hunt in 1930. For a short time officers of the Regiment wore this jacket with a white collar and black tie. The 87th Punjabis became the 5th Battalion 2nd Punjab Regiment in 1922. With the Partition of India in 1947, the Regiment became the Punjab Regiment, part of the Indian Army.
