The Women’s Royal Army Corps (WRAC) was a corps to which all women in the British Army belonged, unless you were a medical, dental or veterinary officer or a chaplain. It was formed on 1 February 1949 as a successor to the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS). Its members performed administrative and other support tasks. The WRAC was disbanded in April 1992 and its remaining members transferred to the Corps they served with.
