Shoulder belt plate, South Hampshire Militia, 1796 (c). Silver with beaded border and engraved design. With a patterned garter the entwined letters or monogram ‘HM’ surmounted by the title ‘2d Batn’ upon a frosted ground. White leather lining. Two prongs and two stud fittings at back.
