From ‘Portraits of the Cabul Prisoners’, a group of 30 tinted lithographs by Lowes Dickinson 24 of them after Lt (later Gen) Vincent Eyre, Bengal Artillery, published by John Murray, 1843 (c). Companion to Lt Vincent Eyre ‘The Military Operations at Cabul with a Journal of Imprisonment in Afghaistan’, or Lady Sale, ‘Journal of the disaster in Afghanistan’. Associated with 1st Afghan War (1838-1842).
