They stand or sit in three rows wearing casual clothing and riding boots. They are possibly holding polo mallets so could be a polo team. They are named at the bottom as (from left to right): Back Row: Capt George Vincent Meredith (11th Regt); Lt George Mackworth Bullock (11th Regt) M F (?); Frederick Cortland Anderson Esq C.S Middle Row: Sub-Lt George Halford D’Oyly (11th Regt); Captain Hugh Montil Toller (11th Regt); Lt Herbert Batson (11th Regt) Front Row: John Elliott Esq; Lt Henry Charles Carden (11th Regt); Lt Ross Thompson (11th Regt). From a collection of 36 photographs associated with the Stevens family: Lt Col Stephen James Stevens and his sons and grandsons, 1870-1915 (c). Most served in Indian Cavalry regiments, plus also the Royal Artillery and the South Wales Borderers. Images include portraits and group images taken in India, at Sandhurst Royal Military College and the School of Musketry in Hythe.
