Pencil, pen and wash drawing of 2nd Regiment Native Cavalry cuff and shoulder wing. From ‘Cavalry’, one of three portfolios of uniform and badge illustrations collectively entitled ‘Dress of the Madras Army’, 1846-1852. The portfolio contains lithographic plates produced to illustrate the dress regulations for cavalry regiments of the Madras Army, together with the original drawings inscribed 'Adjutant General's Office, Fort St George' and dated 1846-1852. A former owner of the portfolio, Lt Gen Sir G F MacMunn, has added drawings which he had collected and collated - many of these are annotated by him.
