19 Oct Major W C Grant's resignation has been accepted as Commandant of the Mounted Staff Corps From the third of three bundles of official letters and despatches from Horse Guards to Gen Sir James Simpson Commander-in-Chief in the Crimea, October and November 1855. From the papers of Gen Sir William John Codrington (1804-1884), Commander in Chief during the Crimean War (1854-1856), 1855-1856.
