Manuscript letter from Trp Sgt Maj (later RSM and Riding Master) George Cruse, 1st (or Royal) Dragoons, to his wife, from Camp Balaklava in the Crimea, 5 Oct 1854. Describing his arrival in the Crimea, and mentioning the Battle of the Alma (1854). Associated with the Crimean War (1854-1856).
