Letter to William Warre from Lord Charles Henry Somerset, Colonial Office, 1 Sep 1818.
Replies to Warre’s letter of 1 September, states the Governor did not feel he could act against Mr John Benn, clerk to Capt Thomas Sheridan, Colonial Paymaster, whose estate was in dispute, but that Somerset had sent Benn a copy of Warre’s letter and asked him to explain his conduct.
