Description

Group photograph of 10 men of the Guards Armoured Division posing for the image in two rows outside in front of trees, 1941-45 (c). Most of them seem to be officers, apart perhaps from the two men at each end of the front row who may be senior warrant officers. Some of the men are named, including Patrick O’Donovan, Irish Guards (back row, second from the left), Geoffrey Russell, Rupert Gerard, Grenadier Guards, Capt (Hon) & QM Richard Stanley Walker, Grenadier Guards (front row, second from the right) and Maj (Temp) John Heneage, Grenadier Guards (probably centre, front row). They are all wearing battle dress and berets. Image taken by Walkers Studios Ltd, St Thomas Street, Scarborough. From an album of 271 photographs collated by General Sir James Newton Rodney Moore, Grenadier Guards, with images taken between 1940-1949 in places such as Windsor, the Guards Depot, Canada, Germany, Belgium and Tunisia.
