Description
Letter written by Nigel Gunnis to his mother, 11 Jun 1945. The King took him out on his speedboat and tried to get as close to the other boats as possible, but people loved him and didn’t mind, went to Colette’s vineyard and tasted many different wines, felt semi-intoxicated, had dinner, will stay for a few months after the war but should get home early next year. From a collection of letters of Maj Nigel Gunnis, Royal Artillery, 1939-1947. Written while Maj Gunnis was serving in the United Kingdom, North Africa, Italy and with the British Mission to the Allied Control Commission in Romania.
