Letter to William Warre from Mr John Benn, Colonial Paymaster’s office, 25 Aug 1818. Explains the various deficiencies in the account of Capt Thomas Sheridan, Colonial Paymaster, to whom Benn had been clerk. One of 101 papers in the collection relating to William Warre’s period as Deputy Quarter Master General, Cape of Good Hope, 1814-1819. From a collection of 566 papers of Lt Gen Sir William Warre (1784-1853) relating to his military career, 1807-1851.
