Letters from General Severne to Colonel Southwell reporting that the regiment had been marched into the County of Cork, but not called to any disturbances; he talks of smuggling and is determined that strong measures are to be taken, 22 Feb 1786; from papers of General John Severne, 8th Hussars, relating to the regiment 1759-1787.
