Description
Letter to Andrew Hay from the Duke of Kent, Colonel of the 1st Regiment of Foot, Kensington Palace, 13 Nov 1809. From a collection of letters relating to Maj Gen Andrew Hay, 1808-1814 and his son George Hay, 1813. Included are accounts of the Battle of Vitoria, Peninsular War 1813 and the Battle of San Sebastian, Peninsular War 1813. Andrew Hay commanded the 1st Royal Regiment, 1808-1809 and the 1st Bde 5th Division during the Peninsular War, 1813-1814. He was killed at Toulouse, 14 Apr 1814.
