Letter from Dr Alexander Cumming at Scutari to Dr John Hall, Inspector General of Hospitals Army of the East, 28 Apr 1855. ‘Asst Surgeon Simons is just reported as having died rather suddenly at the Palace Hospital after having taken a tolerable good breakfast’.
