‘Portuguese’ and ‘Cooley or Labourer’. Drawing from a sketchbook of 35 watercolour and pen and ink drawings attributed to Col George Rowland Edwards (1810-1894), 2nd Madras Light Cavalry, 1830 (c). Illustrates Indian ‘types’ and scenes. The second half of the sketchbook contains ‘Principles for Drawing the Human Figure’, a series of stipple engravings after John Whessel, published by T Simpson, 1 Jul 1794.
