Description

A handwritten copy of a letter copied by Charlotte Maxwell, originally written by Francis Maxwell to her. The letters mention details about his day to day life on the front. Francis Maxwell mentions that he feels isolated when in the back trenches. Francis Maxwell writes that 'David' has written to him, presumably his brother David Maxwell. Francis Maxwell also states that the information that his division had moved had not been relayed correctly and there was therefore a delay in recieving his letter from Charlotte. The letters also include diagrams of his dugout.
