Description
One of four photographs of views of Dehra Dun, 1872-1873. Includes the band stand, the bamboo walk, the monument at Kalunga and Kalunga Hill. From a photograph album compiled by Lt Col (later Maj Gen) Robert Rollo Gillespie (1830-1890) of the 106th Light Infantry, 1868-1877. The regiment served in India before sailing to the United Kingdom through the Suez Canal in 1873, whereupon it was stationed at Parkhurst, Isle of Wight.
