India General Service Medal 1908-35, with clasps: Afghanistan N.W.F. 1919, Waziristan 1919-21. Awarded to Maj (later Lt Col) Thomas Clegg Rowland-Hill, Indian Postal Department. Rowland-Hill was born in 1878 and served with: Bangalore Rifle Volunteers; Indian Postal and Telegraph Department; Royal Engineers 1916-1917 (c); 5th (Lucknow) Group Garrison Artillery, I D F 1917-1920 (c); Commandant Punjab Rifles, A F I 1925; Deputy Postmaster-General Punjab 1921; Postmaster-General Punjab and North West Provinces 1924-1925. Associated with 3rd Afghan War (1919) and North West Frontier operations.
