Sent from Capt Edward Dyneley, Royal Artillery in camp near Balaklava, to his brother, Capt Henry Dyneley, 1st Regiment of Light Cavalry, in Bangalore, relating to the death of their brother, Lt Douglas Dyneley, Royal Welch Fusiliers, and arrangements for his burial.
The letter also comments on forthcoming winter quarters, changes in personnel and being in reserve during the Battle of Tchernaya.
