Letter, 22 Jan 1808. Sent from Charles Whaley, Paymaster of the East Essex Militia at Dover, to Thomas Hitchcock Mossley of Manningtree, Essex, discussing the equipping of troops. Between 1806-1808 the East Essex Militia was responsible for the defence of the Western Heights. Associated with Napoleonic Wars, Home Defence (1803-1815).
