Tie case, 1914-1917 (c); made from a grey cotton and opens in two leaves, like a book; each leaf is in the form of a pocket, stiffened with a rectangle of cardboard which is insert at the bottom; on each inner surface is a loop of cotton and the ties would be folded over the top and secured at the bottom; case is closed on the front with a loop, embroidered with yellow and white vines, and a gold button; front is embroidered with the initials of the owner, Maj A I Fraser DSO, 9th Hodson’s Horse.
