Description
Knife and sheath, 1900 (c)-1915 (c). Belonged to Lt Col George Allen Preston. Probably from Central Africa or Somalia. Spatulate double edged blade, which widens to broad leaf shape. Fibrous yellow horn grip. Tang riveted with one rivet, fixed to iron pommel. Outer surface of sheath of thick cream parchment, decorated with fine, brown thongs. Back of scabbard, brown leather. Edges sewn with yellow thongs.
