Manuscript letter written to Mrs Bowles, Capt Hale’s granddaughter, from A J Waterfield, 19 Aug 1939. In the letter Mr Waterfield says that he is also sending her a book about the Defence of Lucknow. From a small collection of documents and two photographs about Capt George Herbert Hale, 57th Bengal Native Infantry, and the Indian Mutiny of 1857-1858. Associated with the Defence of Lucknow, Indian Mutiny (1857-1859) 1857.
