Letter from Lt Col Standish O’Grady to his father the 1st Viscount Guillamore, dated Hyde Park Barracks, July 1813. This letter reveals that O’Grady’s regiment (7th Light Dragoons) had been warned off for a move to Germany (Straslund) under the command of Col Vivian Hussey. It also shares some society scandal and gossip. Typed transcript in separate folder. From a collection of 45 letters associated with Lt Col Standish O’Grady, later 2nd Viscount Guillamore 1813-1830. These letters include those written whilst serving as a Lieutenant with the 7th Light Dragoons in the Peninsular War and at Waterloo, 1815-1830. With manuscript and typescript transcripts. Associated with the Peninsular War (1808-1814) and Napoleonic Wars (1803-1815).
