Description
Eleven letters to FM Lord Fitzroy Somerset, 1st Baron Raglan, Commander in Chief, 30 Apr 1854-23 Jun 1855. From Mr De Fonblanque, the British Consul at Belgrade, writing on the military situation in the Balkans. One of the letters includes a memorandum on the endemic fevers on the Danube and there is a translation of a cyphered message from the Duke of Newcastle on Russian mining in Sebastopol. Associated with the Crimean War (1854-1856).
