Cast front, lion facing right, on inscribed bar, two voids at tail. Cast bar, 'The King's Own'. Cast verso of head inscribed 'F&G'.
With two clips horizontally positioned behind shoulder and rump.

Introduced to economise on brass and other metals in badge production. Contracts ran from February 1942 through to June 1946. They were produced in several colours including silver, brass, chocolate brown, mid brown and dark blue for the Royal Marines.
