Manuscript letter to Lt Gen Sir Gerald Ellison from Gen Sir Ian Standish Hamilton, 1 Aug 1924.
Reporting on meetings he had had with Visct Richard Burton Haldane and 1st Baron Sir Maurice Pascal Alers Hankey about Ellison's work on the Dardanelles history.
It was pointed out that Ellison's brief was to confine his study to the actual operations rather than to cover larger areas of policy which had been dealt with by Corbett.
He hoped that there would not be a bust up, but if the worst came to the worst he hoped that Ellison could recover his work and issue a private publication under his own authority.
