Typescript letter to Lt Col Edward Yorke Daniel to Lt Gen Sir Gerald Ellison, 8 Aug 1924. Written in reply to a letter Ellison sent to Daniel, 31 Jul 1924. Daniel states that 'no intelligible account of the campaign can possibly be written... if reference to political and diplomatic action is barred' and that 'if the evidence given before the Dardanelles Commission is to be excluded, the narrative of events will lose more than half of its value'. He closes by asking that the contents of his nine chapters be brought to the notice of Committee of Control for their decision. Attached is a note by Daniel of 28 Apr 1924 on 'Coordination of the Military Histories'. From a collection of 1020 papers relating to Lt Gen Sir Gerald Ellison, 1882-1961.
