Photograph of the Indian Contingent marching down Oxford Street, Victory Parade, London, 8 Jun 1946. Leading the Contingent is Brig Chaudhuri OBE. Behind him are, from left to right: Col S J H Green DSO MBE (late Commandant 6 FFR RIF), Maj J T Sataravalla MBE MC (6 RFF RIF), Capt Gobindar Singh (FFR). Every member was the holder of an award for gallantry earned during the War. The Regiment's representatives in the Contingent were commanded by Maj V D Jayal DSO and included Havildar Mohd Naqqi IDSM, Naik Tefa Singh MM, L/Naik Zaman Ali IDSM and Sweeper Mehar Din IDSM. The album was originally compiled by Capt Hubert Gervais Lennox Brain, 6th Royal Bn, 13th Frontier Force Rifles, Instructor of the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, 1938. Presented by the Officers of the 13th Frontier Force Rifles, to The Royal Military College, Sandhurst, to give Cadets who wished to join the Indian Army an idea of life in the regiment.
