Photograph: wrecked train, Israel, south of Haifa, 30 Sep 1947. Palestine Railways train wrecked by the Irgun in an attack on 30 Sep 1947. From an album of 59 photographs compiled by Sgt William Johnson, Coldstream Guards. Sgt Johnson is believed to have been attached to a Gurkha unit during this period. Associated with the Irgun (National Military Organization in the Land of Israel) , Palestine
