Sent from Col A Park, at Stirling to Major John Campbell, in command of the 5th Bn Argyllshire Volunteers, at St James Square, Edinburgh.
John Campbell was the brother of Lt Gen Colin Campbell, Lt Governor of Gibraltar, 1754-1814.
Letter discusses the application of Lord Lorne for his Battalion to go on permanent service which may be delayed. Have to wait until Col Cameron’s Regiment have left the barracks before they can occupy them which would not be until April.
