Description
Manuscript note from Capt O T Webber, Royal Engineers, written from Bloemfontein to his family in Kellyville during the Boer War, 23 Dec 1900. Capt Webber says that there is a rumour that de Wet is thinking of allowing his soldiers to leave if they want to, and he says how strange it is to be spending Christmas in the heat. From a collection of letters and other papers from Capt Oswald Webber, Royal Engineers, to his family from 1895 to 1901. Associated with the Boer War (1899-1902).
