Letter from Dertha to Mary Lloyd, nd.
Contains story of Moncrieffe family fortunes.
From a group of 47 letters, papers and envelopes to and from members of the Lloyd family, including Sir Francis Lloyd and his wife Lady Mary Lloyd (néeGunnis), 1859-1967.

The letter is dated 15 November but no year is legible. The Moncrieffes were related to Francis Lloyd via his mother Lady Frances Hay’s family, the Kinnoulls - one of Frances’s sisters was Lady Louisa Hay, who married Captain Thomas Moncrieffe in 1843 and became the mother of the eight “beautiful Moncrieffes”.
